About Roby Swords
The Roby sword factory in West Chelmsford manufactured Cavalry sabers & NCO/ Musician swords during the Civil War for the Union Army. Each sword is stamped “C. Roby” and “West Chelmsford,” along with the date it was made. The factory ruins can still be seen along Stony Brook, behind 192 Main Street in West Chelmsford.
