Rimfire Challenge

Join us as we kick off the LSC Precision Rimfire Challenge series on Saturday August 22nd, 2026 at 12pm.

This event will be held at the LSC Big Bore Range using the “Know Your Limits” format and targets. Any .22 LR or .22 Short rifles are allowed (no .22 magnum or .17 caliber). Ammo must be at or under 1,300 fps muzzle velocity.

“Know You Limits” targets consist of a row of hanging steel targets that get progressively smaller from left to right. Each round, participants will shoot targets from largest to smallest until either they hit all the targets, choose to stop the round, or miss.

Points are scored in each round based on the targets hit and are added to the participant’s total score. But if a target is missed, all points in the given round are lost. So, you need to “Know Your Limits” to build your score throughout the event.

Steady bags, bipods and other stabilizing tools are encouraged. Any form of optics is allowed with extra bragging rights going to those using iron sights. Participants should bring at least 200 rounds, more if bringing guests.

The event is open to LSC members and guests. This should be a fun and causal competition for rimfire precision enthusiasts. We are hoping to make this kind of event a regular thing during the warm months.
